Ernie Villegas is a retired Region Manager of Public Affairs for the Southern California Edison Company after working for 29 years in various management positions including the last ten years as Region Manager in the Santa Barbara, Santa Clarita, and Ventura communities. He has over 20 years of experience in local governmental affairs interface, public/private sector advocacy, business affairs, and public and media relations. He has served on various boards and committees including the Carpinteria, Goleta, San Fernando, and Santa Barbara Chambers of Commerce; Santa Barbara Hispanic Business Council; Community Environmental Council; Santa Barbara Taxpayer's Association; and the Santa Barbara Industrial Association. Ernie currently serves on the boards of the United Way of Ventura County; American Red Cross; Santa Clara Valley Wellness Foundation; and the Gold Coast Hispanic Business Council.

Ernie's political experience presents a broad regional presence. He was Mayor and Councilmember for the City of Fillmore from 2002 -2006. Prior to his term of office, he also served as planning commissioner for six years and parks and recreation commissioner for two years. In addition to his duties in Fillmore, Ernie also served as Vice President of the Channel League of California Cities and was the Division Representative to the League's Community Resources committee. During his term of office, he was the Chairman of the Tri-County Air Pollution Control District for the San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura Counties. His other duties included being a board member of the Ventura County Air Pollution Control District, the Economic Development Collaborative (EDC-VC), and the Ventura County Council of Government.
